Wasser named one of Top Ten Industry Leaders by Cattle Business Weekly

CENTENNIAL, CO (Oct. 23, 2013) – Bridget Wasser, senior director of meat science and technology at the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association (NCBA), has been named one of the Top Ten Industry Leaders for 2013 by Cattle Business Weekly. The publication is a regional agricultural journal serving a nine-state region out of Philip, S.D.

Wasser joined NCBA in 2005, and is currently responsible for managing beef checkoff research efforts to improve beef’s quality, taste and consistency. In addition, she helps disseminate findings of that research to all segments of the beef industry to encourage quality improvements that can be made with this information. NCBA is a contractor to the Beef Checkoff Program.

Wasser also leads the technical team and activities of the Beef Innovations Group (BIG) at NCBA. The BIG, funded by the beef checkoff, works to inspire beef product innovation by bringing information, insight, ideas, science and tools to industry influencers and stakeholders.

Wasser has had a broad impact on research and research dissemination efforts since joining NCBA. She has been featured in consumer media that reaches millions of consumers, including the New York Times and Denver Post. Wasser has also given numerous beef cutting and innovations presentations around the country.

A graduate of Texas A&M University with B.S. and M.S. degrees in Animal Science with a focus on meat science, Wasser is a native of Eagle Lake, Texas and was active in FFA and agriculture growing up. She now lives in Parker, Colo., with her husband, Clint.
