Youth Beef 706 held at Texas Tech University, July 6-7, 2015
Dan Hale, professor and extension meat specialist in the Department of Animal Science, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension, coordinated the 2015 Youth Beef 706 program held in Lubbock, Texas on July 6-7, 2015. The program was sponsored by the Texas Beef Council and is conducted in partnership between the Texas A&M University and Texas Tech University Departments of Animal Science. American Meat Science Association honors Dr. Rhonda Miller as the 2015 AMSA Distinguished Research Award Winner

Gehring to receive Association of Former Students teaching award

Dr. Temple Grandin, professor of animal science at Colorado State University and internationally recognized authority on animal handling and autism, received an honorary degree from Texas A&M University on Friday, August 15, 2014. Lindsey Mehall receives Z.L. Carpenter Outstanding Graduate Student Award
Lindsey Mehall, a Ph.D. student in the Department of Animal Science, received the Z.L. Carpenter Outstanding Graduate Student Award in Meat Science for 2013. Lindsey is from McKinney, Texas, and she received her B.S. and M.S. from the University of Arkansas. Lindsey Turner, an undergraduate student in the Department of Animal Science, Texas A&M University, received a scholarship grant from the NAMA Scholarship Foundation in the amount of $2,250 at the Annual Convention of the North American Meat Association held March 19-22, 2014 in Palm Springs, Calif. Savell named university distinguished professor
COLLEGE STATION — Dr. Jeffrey Savell, a faculty member in the Department of Animal Science at Texas A&M University, was recently named university distinguished professor. The title, which is bestowed in perpetuity, is one of the highest honors given to Texas A&M University System faculty. Savell is a Regents Professor and E.M. “Manny” Rosenthal Chairholder in the Department of Animal Science and holder of the Cintron University Professorship in Undergraduate Teaching Excellence.
