Papers presented at ICoMST 2018 in Melbourne, Australia
Rhonda Miller, Gordon Carstens, Ashley Arnold, Kayley Wall, Chris Kerth, and Jeff Savell of the Department of Animal Science at Texas A&M University participated in and presented papers at the 64th International Congress of Meat Science and Technology (ICoMST), which was held in Melbourne, Australia on August 12-17, 2018. Arnold presented her paper during the oral sessions and the rest of the papers were presented during the poster sessions. Aggie faculty contribute to Lawrie’s Meat Science, 8th edition
Three faculty members in the Department of Animal Science at Texas A&M University provided chapters to the newly revised, Lawrie’s Meat Science, Eighth edition. Rhonda Miller, Kerri Gehring, and Jeff Savell each wrote chapters working with Dr. Fidel Toldrá, the editor of this edition, to complete the publication process. Professor Ralston Lawrie was a world-renown meat scientist and wrote multiple editions of “Meat Science” during his life. 2016 Introductory HACCP Courses and Beyond Basic Workshops announced
The 2016 dates for Introductory HACCP Course and Beyond Basics: HACCP Plan Improvement Workshop have been set. All courses are taught in the Kleberg Center on the campus of Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas by Kerri Gehring and Jeff Savell from the Department of Animal Science . Mehall, Eastwood present at International Congress of Meat Science and Technology in France
Lindsey Mehall and Clay Eastwood, Ph.D. students in the Department of Animal Science, presented their research work at the 61st International Congress of Meat Science and Technology (ICoMST) in Clermont-Ferrand, France, August 23-28, 2015. Lindsey Mehall receives Association of Former Students Distinguished Graduate Student Award for Excellence in Teaching
Lindsey N. Mehall received a Association of Former Students Distinguished Graduate Student Award for Excellence in Teaching at a ceremony held in the Stark Gallery in the Memorial Student Center at Texas A&M University on Monday, April 28, 2015. Lindsey was one of six students to receive a teaching award along with eight doctoral students who received Excellence in Research Awards. Gehring to receive Association of Former Students teaching award
Dr. Kerri Gehring, associate professor of animal science and president of the International HACCP Alliance, has been selected as one of the three recipients of the 2014 Association of Former Students Distinguished Achievement Award for Teaching at the College Level. Seven Meat Science graduate students presented their research work at the poster session of the American Meat Science Association Reciprocal Meat Conference held in Madison, Wisconsin, June 15-18, 2014.
